Ch 1
Dedenne is a small mouse Pokemon who is very extroverted… maybe too extroverted. If people pet her, she immediately thinks they are her friends. According to Dedenne, she has tons of friends.
On October 2, 2020 (yesterday), she talked to Papa for an hour on a walk around the local middle school on Earth. (She now considers him her friend.)
Dedenne learned that the trees around the school were planted by dolphins, that Papa is a Human Pokemon, that the smoky weather is caused by Fire-type Pokemon in the forests, and the Fire-type Pokemon Grill is not helping*.
(*”What is meat?” Dedenne asked after being told what a Grill cooked. “Oh, Dedenne, you don’t want to know,” Papa told her.)
Dedenne made plans to write three different books in that hour about cheese, Pokemon, and trees. She forgot about all of them by the time the hour was over. Making big plans and forgetting them is an everyday occurrence for Dedenne.
Starting now, Dedenne is telling me what to write. (This is her first book, and I am doing the writing.)
She wants me to tell you that she is a Normal-type Pokemon. (“The one with the star as an element on the card,” she says.)
“I arrived only yesterday,” says Dedenne. “I made two new friends before sleeping. Shelly and Mary live on the Bed!”
Dedenne lives in the Munlandia City Pokemon Gym, but sleeps on the Bed upstairs. She says her address is “Sammamish Pond, Blue House, Munlandia, Munlandia City Gym.”
This evening, Dedenne “baked” and ate cookies (she only glanced at the recipe once). Then she went down with Papa and Valeria to the now-fabled basement (you will hear a lot about this in Baguette’s stories) to play Terraria. Dedenne learned that Terraria was a game played on the Computer, a Metallic-type Pokemon.
Ch 2
Dedenne made a new friend on the Bed that same day, Pin the owl. She came over to his house, Owl Tree Residence, where they helped Hoota eat pancakes, then went down to Pin’s room (there are only two floors).
Pin’s room was on a white carpet (paper towel). His bed was made of light blue paper, with green bear and seal stuffies (tiny squishy toys to us, stuffies to Pin, who is a stuffie to us).
Pin and Dedenne spent that visit drawing on his easel (a sketchbook that leaned on one of the three legs of the coffee table that was Owl Tree Residence).
Again, Dedenne went down to the basement with Papa and Valeria, this time to play Cities Skylines, which involved bulldozing the houses of people who complained they didn’t have water or electricity. It is in this game that I coined my much-used phrase “Whiners and complainers!”
